Quartz ring

I have a 'thing' for statement rings. I always wear one on my pointer finger.
I picked up this beautiful quartz ring at the San Diego Mineral and Gem Society store.
It is made from a single piece of quartz. Not bad for $40.00 don't you think?
If you're into handmade semi-precious stone jewelry, it's worth a look.
Beautiful pieces and reasonably priced.

Teacher Love

I am really grateful that Maya and Jaxon have such amazing teachers!
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week so I made miniature pinatas filled with
organic Yummy Earth lollipops.We like the vitamin C pops (300% daily allowance) and
the hot chili pops that come in lime and mango flavor.

Strawberry Tours

Tis the season to pick strawberries!

Tanaka Farms in Irvine, CA  is a great place to visit with friends and family.

They offer the Strawberry Wagon Tours which leaves every 30 minutes on the weekends.

For $17 per person children or adult, it includes a 45 minute guided tour of their farm where you
can learn about various fruits and vegetables as you sample them along the way!
The wagon ride is a lot of fun!

Towards the end of the tour, you get to eat and pick as many strawberries as you wish!

You get to take home a container filled with the strawberries you picked too.

Paper Poppies

I make my mom paper flowers every year for Mother's Day. 

I started making some paper poppies last night with crepe paper my mom actually gave me.
Craft material from the 80s.

I made a paper banner out of black cardstock and markers to add to the vase.

I ended up making twice as many poppies.

The funny thing is my mom taught me how to make these paper poppies when I was about 10 years old.
I still remember how to make them.

3D Laser Cut Models

Metal Earth 3D Laser Cut Models are pretty neat!
These amazingly detailed DIY models start as 4" square steel sheets and finish as amazing 3D models.

Use the easy to follow instructions to pop out the pieces, bend the tabs, and connect them at the attachment points.

Although it is recommended for ages 14 and up, our 9 year old Maya did a fantastic job all by herself!

The fact that they are made of metal and not plastic makes for an amazing display.
You can build United States architecture, International architecture, space shuttles, cars, and they even have a Star Wars series that is really nice!

Golden Gate Bridge done! Apparently the Eiffel tower is next!
