Local Eats

I'm usually not a cupcake kinda girl, but have you every tried My Delight Cupcakery?

I love their logo!

Their cupcakes are super moist and come in really fun flavors! The frosting is amazing. It has a nice whippy texture and not too sweet. Here we have (left to right): carrot cake, cookies and cream, the breakfast (bacon & maple syrup), and the french toast with fresh berries. This is only a few of the many selections they offer.

With Maya's birthday coming up next week, it made me think of My Delight. We plan to order 3 dozen of the mini ones for the kiddies. Yes, they make miniature cupcakes in the same amazing flavors! J brought home this cupcake for me for my birthday last year! Look how generous they are with the bacon? OH, and they also have bacon bits baked inside the cupcake too! Yes I love bacon, don't judge me....

With heart day around the corner, I'm sure your honey would surely appreciate you if you brought home some of these babies...

Painting Progress

I started on the wave over the weekend.
It started to rain on me by the time I got to the larger wave.

Photo Of The Day

Incredible shot of Manhattan by Michael Huitt.
Titled: Manhattanhenge

Michael writes:
Twice a year, New Yorkers get a chance to experience “Manhattanhenge”, the occurrence where the setting sun aligns perfectly with east-west streets.

The term is derived from Stonehenge in the UK, where the sun aligns with the huge circular formation of stones on the solstices. The “Manhattanhenge” name was popularized in 2002 by Neil deGrasse Tyson, an astrophysicist at the American Museum of Natural History.

New painting

Happy New Year!
I took about a month off from everything so that I could focus on my family. My father had shoulder surgery while my mother had to fly on a whim to Japan to take care of my ailing grandmother. We lived with my father for 10 days so that we could care for him while my mom was away. My in-laws whom usually visit during the holidays were unable to do so due to my grandmother-in-law who was also recovering from a recent surgery. The end of 2014 was challenging, and although we were unable to celebrate the holidays as we usually do, I am happy to say everyone is healthy and doing well now so that is all that matters.

I started 2015 with a new commissioned painting project.

Here's to a sunny 2015!

A work in progress...
