JAVA Magazine

When we were in Arizona this summer, we immersed ourselves in the thriving art and culture of downtown Phoenix. We ate at an amazing cafe more than once called Phoenix Public Market. The Phoenix Public Market Cafe is a casual urban hangout offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They serve fresh market cuisine crafted with season ingredients.

The "Public Market" also hosts an Open Air Market on their property on certain evenings of the week, which we made it a point to attend while we were there. As we were enjoying ourselves, we were approached by photographers from, JAVA Magazine  a local community magazine, asking if they can take our photo. It looks like we were included in their July/August 20th Anniversary issue. How nice!

Featured in their section called "Night Gallery", where they showcase locals at various venues around town. There we are in the white box! What a great way to remember our trip and remember what was going on around Phoenix at the time we were there. I don't think people knew we were out-of-towners....

Pane Bianco, Phoenix Arizona

My favorite lunch spot in Phoenix, Arizona was this joint, Pane Bianco. They make amazing foccacia
sandwiches! The foccacia breads were baked to order in a wood-fired oven, and served with fresh
local ingredients. Yum!
Pane Bianco has been voted best sandwich in Phoenix on several occasions....I'm not surprised.

The decor is just lovely!

They got that rustic, shabby chic thing down!
I just loved the relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, and heartwarming foods they served.

We couldn't resist! We also bought a loaf of fresh bread to consume later...

Vibrant Art in Arizona

Roosevelt Row was my favorite area in Phoenix, Arizona.

I fell in love with all the wall art I saw around the area. Everything was so colorful and message positive.

A cool old cotton trailer converted into a stage area for the community. The woodwork is amazing!

This particular wall art was my favorite! I just thought it was so cute! I had J swing back around and
I jumped out of the car to take this shot. To me it reflected a beautiful and simple lifestyle....

Ice Cream!

So far, Arizona has been amazing!
I knew I would love the desert landscape and the cool pools, but to tell you the truth I wasn't expecting much, in the culinary sense.  I've been blown away by some amazing food here and I have so much to share! Starting with this cute ice cream parlor Churn.

The interior is so cute, with pops of red and grey. I love all the old fashioned candy that you can get here too.

You know the kind you grew up eating like huge jawbreakers, candy buttons, and pop rocks...

I tried the Vietnamese coffee on a pretzel cone. Yes that's right, a pretzel cone! Brilliant! It was really good! You can't go wrong with sweet and savory!

They even have a nice area in the back with 'misters' going...You know the thingy that sprays fine mist? Believe me, I learned, misters make a world of a difference in the dry Arizona heat!
If ever you're in town treat yourself to a heavenly treat from this charming little place.
