Love Pillow
Sometimes I gather material and start working on a project not knowing exactly what I'm making.
This was the case with what ended up becoming my mini "Love Pillow". While I was in the process of making this, J kept asking me, "What are you working on?" My reply, "I don't know quite yet".
I grabbed a pink sweater, vintage fabric, leftover handmade jewelry components, and voila! out came a decorative pillow.

Happy Weekend!
Although we took Jaxon to Legoland last weekend for his 5th birthday, the celebration continues...
This evening we'll be going to the LA County Fair with his favorite aunty, and tomorrow we will gather for a small birthday party with family. Have a nice weekend!

Optical Illusion
London based artist Death Spray Custom drops some optical illusion patterns on
Arai auto racing helmets. I love it!
J and I agreed that when the kids are no longer dependent on us, we would get a motorcycle and travel cross country. Let's see, that would mean we would need to wait another 15 years....

Local Eats
Right down the street from my parents house is my go-to local bakery called Eat Cake.
They use the highest quality ingredients, touting gluten-free rice flour, organic berries, and
cage-free eggs. Their cakes and baked goods are not overly sweet and everything I've had
has been very moist and delicious!
With the sweetest logo and beautiful packaging, its a nice place to pick up something for a dinner party too! We love getting the individual mini cakes so we all can try something new everytime. Some of my favorites out of their cakes and pies are the walnut pie, Hawaiian sweet potato cake, and all their chiffons. You cannot go wrong with their bread roll or sesame roll if you want a pastry-to-go with your morning coffee!

New earrings
These are new earrings I've been working on. I hand painted a design on high quality French paper, then applied it to maple wood, and finished the back with silver vinyl. Triple sealed with water based sealant. Brass chain detail. This will be available in my shop soon!

Happy Weekend!
We are off to Carlsbad for a short weekend trip to celebrate Jaxon's 5th birthday!
He said to me a couple months back, "Mama, I want to go to Legoland and eat seafood
for my birthday!....You never cook shrimp because you're allergic and I want to eat
shrimp mama...."
So our plan is to fulfill his desire to go to Legoland and get him his shrimp cocktail!

Etsy Vintage
I have a soft spot for vintage furniture, home decor, and kitchen wares. It says alot when something made several decades ago, stood the test of time. It tends to be well made if not handmade, and many times handpainted too. I think back in the days things were made in smaller batches by skilled craftsmen with the consumer in mind. Its also fun for me to take the children and scour our local Goodwills or vintage shops. It's neat to be able to teach them that not all is what it seems. At a glance the shelves may look dusty and cluttered, but when you find an item that catches your eye, take it home , clean it, polish it, and display it lovingly, it truly does end up being a piece of treasure! The kids and I call it our "treasure hunt".
Sometimes I cannot believe what beauties have fallen right into my lap and might I add at very reasonable prices!
With that said, the great thing about shopping for vintage items on Etsy is that you can find items from all over the world! Here are a few of my favorite items I came across recently.

Mix & Match Lego
I had a lot of fun playing Legos with Jaxon and Maya this weekend!
We combined several Lego sets and made our own home. We don't own any of the intricate fancy schmancy themed sets, but it was a fun way to exercise the kids imagination and create whatever their hearts desired! Here's a little tour of our Lego home.
We are especially proud of our toilets equipt with flush valve and all, and I was impressed with Maya's development of the Master shower and table lamp. Our Lego people definitely took many
trips to the bathroom so that they could use the toilet and showers! Jaxon (4), who received the Lego Dirtbike Transporter set as a gift this weekend, was able to construct the whole thing by himself.
I think they both did a great job!
